After looking for over a year Antioch finally signed on a 4,700 sq/ft office space in the Old Mill last week!!
The top 3 greatest things about the new office space:
1. We're out of the old office space (we were in three separate offices with storage behind doors and multiple people sharing desks. I can't believe we lasted this long!)
2. There is a 1,600 sq/ft open room that will be used for middle school, high school and interns. This is the first time that we've had space for our student ministries. (As one of the board members Tim Hardin said, "It's everything you'd need for a church minus a sanctuary!")
3. We're sub-leasing a large portion of this to several artists in Antioch -- not only will it help with the rent, but the synergy and creativity in that space is going to be off the chart!!

Here's a picture of Justin going tater tot crazy over at the McMenamins in McMinnville, Oregon.

Brandon Reynolds, Lauren Yoho and Emi Popa are at Moody, Wheaton and Trinity Seminary this week in Chicago promoting the summer intern program at Antioch.
Brandon and Emi have worked all year to revamp and improve the intern program for this summer... I'm pretty excited about some of the things they have lined up to pour into college students.
Here's a picture that Brandon shot over this morning.
P.S. If you know of anyone who might be interested in the program, you can find info on our web page here >> Negev Internship Program
I'm talking at length about wine tomorrow at church as part of a sermon on Jesus turning Water into Wine.
In case you're interested, here is a great little article on the subject of Alcohol and the Bible by Daniel Wallace, a widely respected New Testament and Greek scholar (he wrote the Greek textbooks that most seminary students use today).

I love what Augustine calls the Psalms in chapter 9 of his Confessions:
"Outbursts of devotion with no room in them for the breath of pride!"
Outbursts of devotion. I could think about that phrase for quite a while. What do outbursts of devotion look like in our lives... in my life?
Was the capacity for "outbursts of devotion" why God called David a "man after his own heart"?
Without pursuing this at length, I think that unstructured creative acts of enthusiasm, passion or desperation are at the heart of outbursts of devotion or Psalms.
I'm often asked why art is such a big deal at Antioch... well, maybe that is the answer.
Unstructured creative acts (does that sound like art?) seem to me an essential ingredient in devotion, worship and our ability to glorify God with all that is within us.
Tamara and I took the two youngest over to Portland for a couple of days.
We had a bunch of stuff on our list and also wanted to be able to spoil Sara (she used to be the "baby" till a couple of months ago and needed to be reminded that she's still special!)
Here's her being special with the new Hello Kitty umbrella that we picked up for her (it's raining, of course).
Tamara has been at it the last week or so with her photography business (Wiggleworm Photography).
Here are some fun pictures of our kids and some of our friends' kids.
Thanks also to Benjamin Edwards for being such a stud and having the heart to help mentor Tamara.
Her business is so cool because there is nothing like having amazing pictures of loved ones!!
